Cheers To The New Pope!

The new pope has been chosen! Would you believe he's an American citizen at that?! Let's learn a bit about him shall we? According to CBS news “After fewer than 24 hours of seclusion in the Vatican, cardinals ended the 2025 papal conclave with the election of the new pontiff. The man chosen, Cardinal Robert Prevost” from what we know he has chosen to be called Pope Leo the XIV 

Born in Chicago IL he’s the first U.S. pope in the church's history, and is also a citizen of Peru, where he worked for many years. Personally I think it's pretty cool that an american citizen has been chosen to be the new pope don't you? At the age of 27 In 1982 the new pope was sent to Rome to study, he was also ordained as a priest there! And finally the last little tidbit… he went to “Villanova University un PA with a degree in mathematics, then studied theology at the Catholic Theological Union of Chicago, where he earned a Master's of Divinity.” writes cbs news. 

If I were in his shoes I'd be a little nervous to be the chosen one but I have good faith that he'll do great things! That's all for now fellow readers!
