Loss And Heart Break are going through Downtown LA
Share
Sorry guys, we know it's monday and you probably want to hear some more up beat news but sadly not today… What was meant to be a night of celebration and music turned into a scene of heartbreak and chaos. In the early hours of Monday morning, a mass shooting broke out at an unofficial after-party following the Hard Summer music festival in downtown Los Angeles, leaving two people dead and six others injured. The shooting occurred near 14th Place and Paloma Street at an unpermitted warehouse event. Police had initially responded to the party around 11 p.m. Sunday night, arresting one person for carrying a firearm and dispersing the crowd. But by 1 a.m., they were called back after reports of gunfire rang out.
When officers arrived, they found eight victims—one man pronounced dead at the scene and a 52-year-old woman who later died at the hospital. The six surviving victims were hospitalized, with at least one in really bad condition.
People are reporting hearing rapid gun fire around them and seeing their fellow partiers dispersing all over. Mayor Karen Bass addressed the tragedy, calling it “senseless violence” and pledging accountability. Investigators are still working to identify suspects and determine a motive.
Remember to always be safe and know your surroundings as best you can and ALWAYS stick together when you're in a big crowd of people.
As always our hearts and prayers go out to the friends and family of the injured and deceased.
