Sean Kingston Sentenced For Wire Fraud
Share
I know this news took place a while ago but as we all probably know Sean Kingston was put on trial for fraud. Specifically, wire fraud. Did you also know his mother was involved in this as well! Well ladies and gentleman he was found guilty and this past Friday, August 15th, he was sentenced.
So from what we know Sean was convicted earlier this year along with his mother, Janice Turner, after prosecutors revealed the pair orchestrated an elaborate scam. Using fake wire transfer receipts, they acquired luxury goods such as:
-
A bulletproof Cadillac Escalade
-
High-end jewelry and designer watches
-
An oversized LED television system
Now i dont know about you but that's a lot of stuff… Vendors were often persuaded to hand over the goods with promises of promotion on Kingston’s social media platforms, but the payments never came through.
In court, Kingston expressed regret and apologized for his actions, telling the judge he was committed to making things right. However, his request for a delayed surrender due to health reasons was denied, so basically that means he began serving his sentence immediately.
Sean Kingston has been sentenced to three and a half years in federal prison for his role in a $1 million wire-fraud scheme.
